Henday Centre is a 75,000+ square foot shopping centre located on the main street of Innisfail, Alberta. This property was developed as an interior mall by Cowley Keith and Travcon companies of Calgary in 1978.
In 1984 Sterling Trust Corporation hired Daryl Hillman to perform property management and leasing of the property. In 1996 Hillman assembled a group to purchase the Centre and one year later negotiated the expansion of the grocery space, leased by Westfair Foods Ltd, from 14,000 square feet to 27,000 square feet.
The Gill family from Calgary purchased the property in 2002 and operated it until 2007 when, once again, Hillman assembled a group (that incudes the Gill’s) to purchase the property and perform a major retrofit to convert the property to a Power Centre and eliminate the interior mall.
New tenants coming to this property under the retrofit program include Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, The Bargain! Shop, Fargey’s Paints and Wallcoverings and Innisfail Pets and Grooming. The final lease up of the available space is underway at this time.
